Arepas for Every Meal:

Arepas are incredibly versatile; you can enjoy them at any time of the day with various fillings according to your preferences.
Arepas for Breakfast:
Arepa Perico: This is a fulfilling and simple breakfast option. Make the arepa as you like— I prefer it grilled for this one, but if you’re short on time in the morning, mini fried arepas work great too. Combine them with scrambled eggs for a filling breakfast. Optionally, add butter to enhance the flavor, and consider throwing some spinach into your eggs for extra nutrition.
You can also eat Spinach Arepas. In my book you will find how to make them, they taste delicious.
Ham and Cheese Arepa: This is one of the easiest options. Just prepare the arepa, add ham and your choice of cheese, and fry it. If you prepare it this way, don’t forget to add a little hole in the middle. It will taste better if you add butter.
Reina Pepiada: For this delicious filling, combine chicken and avocado. A grilled arepa is a perfect match for this recipe.
Arepas for Lunch:
Arepa Pabellón: This is one of my favorites. It’s filled with shredded beef, black beans, and fried plantains, making a perfect flavor mix. You can stuff everything into the arepa and eat it like a sandwich, or serve the ingredients separately on a plate alongside the arepa.
Arepa Domino: If preparing meat takes too much time, you can skip the beef and plantains for a simpler version. Just use canned black beans from your local market, add some white cheese, and cook your arepa in an air fryer (as I explain in my book) for a quick and tasty lunch.
Arepas for Dinner
Depending on your health goals, the fillings for your dinner arepas can vary:
Arepa Bulgara: This arepa makes for a complete meal with carbohydrates, vegetables, and protein. It’s a burst of flavors you won’t want to miss.
Arepa with Tuna: This is a common dinner choice for me. Prepare your favorite brand of tuna, and serve it with a grilled arepa smeared with butter. Add some avocado for extra flavor.
I hope this gives you some ideas on how to plan your meals with arepas!
